Apple and Qualcomm have finally agreed on something in their messy legal battle.

No, they haven’t reached a settlement (or anything close) but they have settled on a date for Apple CEO Tim Cook to be deposed.

In a new legal filing, first spotted by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the two sides agree that Apple’s top executive will give a deposition on June 27, 2018.

News of the deposition is the latest move in an increasingly messy legal battle between the two tech giants.

Apple filed a $1 billion suit against the chipmaker more than a year ago, alleging the company was overcharging for royalty payments. A few months later, Qualcomm hit back with its own suit, alleging Apple shared proprietary code with one of Qualcomm’s top competitors: Intel.

To complicate things even further, all this is happening amid reports that Apple plans to dump Qualcomm as a supplier altogether. That may not be surprising, given the mounting tensions between the two companies, but as we’ve previously noted, the move will almost certainly lead to inferior iPhones.
